EEAC Keynote: Working Collaboratively to Improve Community Resilience, Inclusion, and Equity
Dr. Dusty Linnell, Associate Professor of Practice, Family and Community Health, and Evie Smith, Small Farms and Master Gardeners Coordinator, share how they came together as an Extension and community collaboration team in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Learn how they overcame language barriers and increased access to programs and services to build community resilience for future crises. Through their collaboration efforts, they were able to create tailored vaccine clinics, space for growing food, and a cultural center where members of the Mesoamerican indigenous and Latin community could come together. By listening to the community members, collaborating with partners and creating tailored solutions, their team has been able to make meaningful impacts in their community.
