North Willamette Valley Growing Farms Workshop Series

**Class Begins Wednesday, February 26**

2014 North Willamette Valley Growing Farms: Aurora

 

 

This series is designed to provide beginning farmers with the tools and knowledge to manage the biological and financial risks of farming. The course includes both classroom and field sessions taught by a mix of OSU faculty, experienced farmers and other professionals. Topics include strategic planning, farm finances, marketing, liability and production. Participants gain the skills to assess their farm enterprise and develop a whole farm plan.

Series includes an extensive resource binder and workbook. Pre-registration is required.  Scholarships may be available.

Dates: Wednesdays February 26 to April 2, 4:30 to 9:00 pm

Saturdays March 22 and April 5

Bring your own or potluck style dinners.

Location: The North Willamette Research and Extension Center

Tuition: $230/person or $400/pair of farm partners

This class is not for everyone. It is intended for people who are seriously considering starting a small-scale commercial farm, are in their first five years of farming or are diversifying or scaling up their current farm business.
